Focusing on Biblical Principles
At Christian Investors Financial (CIF), we believe raising money for ministry is best accomplished when based on a biblical perspective. CIF Campaigns are built on biblical principles with an emphasis on I Chronicles 28–29 when David raised resources for the temple.
The campaign must be based on a clear, compelling vision. Our process begins by helping church leaders clearly and concisely articulate the vision God has placed on their hearts.
In 1 Chronicles 28, King David listened and followed God’s clear vision - Solomon, David’s son, would be the one to build God’s temple.
Strong Prayer Focus:
Since sacrificial giving is dependent upon one’s heart, prayer is a strong focus throughout the process. Through prayer, our hearts are aligned with God’s will. It is God who ultimately provides the resources needed by the local church. He is able to take “loaves and fishes” and multiply them to meet your church or ministry needs.
In 1 Chronicles 29:14 (NIV), David prayed, “Everything comes from You, and we have given You only what comes from Your hand.”
We first invite Advance Commitments from the ministry leaders. Their example encourages and motivates others to give as it shows the financial goal to be attainable.
King David and his leaders first committed their contributions to the building of the temple. “The people rejoiced at the willing response of their leaders, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly to the Lord” (I Chronicles 29:9, NIV). Then they invited the “rest of the people” to participate.
The successful campaign is built on wide participation. God uses equal sacrifice rather than equal size gifts. When giving sacrificially to God, we demonstrate obedience and gratitude for all He has given us.
In 2 Corinthians 8:12 (NLT), Paul tells the Corinthians, “Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have.”
