Christian Investors Financial (CIF) has announced that Scott Achterling will assume the role of president effective June 1, 2020. Paul Anderson, current president of CIF, will transition to the role of Business and Relationship Development Executive.
As CIF’s current COO, Scott possesses a variety of skills and giftings that have prepared him well for this transition. In his 13 years at CIF, he has increasingly taken on more strategic leadership and management roles. Scott has an MBA from the University of St. Thomas and a BS from Minnesota State University Mankato. Prior to coming to CIF, Scott spent 10 years holding various management and business development positions in the banking industry.
As Chief Operating Officer, Scott provided day-to-day leadership and management to the overall organization. Whether that was leading or participating in a strategy session with one of our business lines, interfacing with the Board of Directors on a committee or meeting with a customer, his involvement in our organization is wideranging.
Prior to joining CIF in 2007, he spent 10 years holding various management and business development positions in the banking industry. Scott holds a B.S. degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato and his M.B.A from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.
From the consumer side to the business side, Scott brings a wide range of banking experience to CIF. Scott’s StrengthsFinders of Strategic, Relator, Achiever, Competition and Responsibility perfectly fit his new role of president as he’s both detailed-oriented and a big-picture thinker. What he most values about CIF is that he is able to use his skills and abilities to make a meaningful difference.
As President of CIF, Paul was involved in all aspects of CIF’s ministry, whether internally or externally. He focuses on serving, helping and empowering others so that they are enabled to do what they do best.
Prior to joining CIF in 2003, Paul was a Senior Manager for Capin Crouse LLP (a CPA firm), Director of Trust Operations for the Orchard Foundation, Chief Financial Officer for Far East Broadcasting Company and Tax Associate for Price Waterhouse.
At CIF, Paul uses his business and financial skills to serve the local church—and will continue to do so in his new role in relationship and business development. Making a real, spiritual difference in someone’s life is what’s most meaningful to Paul. He earned his MBA from Colorado State University and has been married for 30 years with three adopted boys.
