What Christmas means to us, and thankful hearts

When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger.

And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this child. And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them … And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.

Luke 2:15-18, 20 (ESV)

As Jesus Christ came into the world, lying in a manger, God called the least assuming group of their time to come and see – shepherds, the keepers of the sheep. They glorified and praised God for what they had witnessed.

The promised King Jesus the Messiah had arrived, the One whose Kingdom will never end, the Word of God made flesh. Angels delivered a message to shepherds who came, saw Him and worshiped the Lord.

As we celebrate Christmas together, I want to turn over the commentary to our staff, myself included. They share what Christmas means to us and what we are thankful for. We hope you enjoy it!

It is a privilege to serve King Jesus together and to help advance His Kingdom through local churches made up of the faithful who believe. Merry Christmas from CIF!
