Camp Shamineau

Nearly 18,000 guests travel to northern Minnesota each year to visit Camp Shamineau, making it one of the largest camps in the country.

Service: Real Estate Loan

The camp moved to its current site in 1958—previously known as Buffalo Lake Bible Camp near Buffalo, MN—and offers programs for youth to adults.

The purpose of Shamineau Ministries is “to provide camping experiences for the purpose of introducing children and adults to a saving knowledge of Christ, helping them grow in their faith, and training the Christian leaders of tomorrow,” said Herb Bloomquist, executive director of Shamineau Ministries.

CIF has partnered with the camp for decades. Recently, “all buildings have been updated or added on to with recent expansions to the main chapel facility and the gymnasium,” Bloomquist continued.

Recently, the camp purchased—with help from a CIF loan—an additional 678 acres of undeveloped forestland.

“CIF has been a partner to us, providing far more than just financial tools,” Bloomquist concluded. “CIF has been a vital part of the ministry of Shamineau Ministries. Whatever success we have had at sharing the good news of Jesus is equally shared by CIF.”
