“Our capital campaigns are new and improved, but they are also a constant. We have retained our core.”
The heart of a consultant is to make things better for the people and organizations they’re serving. After much listening, helpful experience and best practices are shared with processes that are time tested.
Our consulting at CIF also has a fellowship aspect to it, between Christians with a shared goal of Kingdom expansion.
So where do we start? All ministries need vision – a specific vision. Churches talk through vision statements and decide together to pursue God’s calling for the congregation.
Gathering support for the work
Many churches ask us about raising funds for buildings, and we respond with questions. What is the church trying to do and why? How will a new or changed facility better serve the congregation and make room for others coming in who do not yet know the Lord?
And there’s prayer, which covers it all. What does God want to do here and how does He want to do it?
There’s a proven process with team leaders, a timeline and so much more. In case you are not familiar, I have just introduced you to CIF Capital Campaigns.
Modernizing the campaign process
We have revamped our capital campaigns after nearly 30 years helping churches. Hundreds of congregations have used our process, which honors God and makes each campaign the church’s own.
Much time has been spent thinking things through. There are church team leaders with specific jobs, like hospitality, prayer, communications, advance commitments and more. We have great structure, sound advice and a proven system, but as I said, a church’s vision and prayer always come first.
Changed, yet unchanging
Our capital campaigns are new and improved, but they are also a constant. We have retained our core. The advice we can share and experiences we have had are invaluable, and we continue to incorporate them into our campaigns process.
While most of our campaigns have been in person, we found that there was extra expense involved with this that often wasn’t necessary. But, not all parts of our campaign preparations are best done remotely. Thus, a new hybrid model is what many churches are choosing.
We’ll talk more about this in the future, but I am excited to see the fruit of this work. I believe we’ll be able to serve more churches more effectively, economically, and remain responsive.
We work from a biblical foundation, which churches appreciate, and is a cornerstone of who we are as well. We are grateful for our campaign partners and look forward to serving churches in this ever-important area far into the future.

“Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.” Romans 13:8 (ESV) We have many discussions at CIF with churches about the use of debt, good stewardship, budgeting and the like. Sometimes we hear church leaders say they are debt averse, meaning they are uncomfortable… Continue Reading
