Beautiful fall colors prepare our hearts and minds for the coming Christmas season – the lights, the fanfare, the anticipation of gatherings with family and friends.
Oranges, yellows, reds and browns make way for greens with reds – and snow for some of us. Walking through stores, we hear the familiar tune, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year,” by Andy Williams.
The holidays are a time when many of us think more intently about relationships, those we love and have a sense of closeness with – people who care for one another and like spending time together.
As Christians, we love to talk, discuss, even debate whether things are biblical.
But how often do we think about the power of Scripture, namely, its ability to influence, enhance and solidify our relationships with one another?
The Bible is our authority
Values like respect, honesty, forgiveness, selflessness and support for one another are biblical, and our relationships can reflect the divine character and desires of God. After all, the Great Commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart soul and mind, and the second is to love your neighbor as yourself. Both are grounded in relationship.
While some businesses borrow values from the Bible, often without realizing it, at CIF we know the source and follow these values to give glory to God in the work we do together. Our God is relational – and what a privilege it is to know Him personally, seek His guidance and enjoy the benefits of that relationship.
We are only human, but our desire is to mirror that level of care with the churches and individuals we serve. We want to reflect Christ in all that we do, building relationships to expand God’s Kingdom together.
Strong relationships are built on selflessness and mutual support. When that happens, relationships turn into partnerships.
Churches and related ministries each have a mission, values and goals. We bring the financial aspects to help them shine their brightest.
A season for Christians to share God’s love
Why do so many of us love the holidays? Could it be that we value what God values – relating to one another and reflecting back on how God related to us? It’s a beautiful thing.
