“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
Colossians 3:23-24 (ESV)
At CIF, we talk often about quality and setting the bar of achievement high for ourselves. I enjoy encouraging others to do their best and then consider how they can do even better.
That often involves some basic recognition of each person’s contribution, while setting them up to succeed and grow in their abilities. The best managers do this well and they do it by listening, offering tips and cheering on those on their team.
This doesn’t mean that we never correct or redo our work when the need arises. Circumstances and variables can change, and we may need to reassess the situation and make modifications. We also operate and are governed by numerous regulations, so diligence is required to stay in compliance.
Recognizing participation and competition
There is a trend in our society to recognize people for participating and I can see how that can be valuable, yet there are also competitive realities we all face in the real free market world.
To do well, we need to do our best. So, we set an achievement bar, we reach it, then we set it a little higher. The technical term for this is continuous improvement.
Whatever we do, we are to do it heartily, unto the Lord. I am sure that many pastors in our audience have preached on the above verses from Colossians, perhaps several times in their tenure.
Whether we are serving in a church or with a financial ministry like CIF, the principle is the same. That is one of the beautiful things about our work. We too are believers and we are financial experts who understand ministry and how it all fits together.
So, we meet often, gathering feedback from our customers, our internal analysts, consultants and leaders. From there we can then adapt our policies and processes to meet the changing demands of our clientele.
All of this relies heavily on communication, which is one of our Core Values. Communication in an open and honest manner is important as we are providing faith-based financial solutions that serve Kingdom expansion.
If you are a CIF customer, we hope you’ve been able to experience the many changes we’ve made in our processes which have allowed us to serve you better.
We love what we do and are thankful for the opportunity to serve and see God’s Kingdom grow.
“And he said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground. He sleeps and rises night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows; he knows not how. The earth produces by itself, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. But when… Continue Reading
“There are funds at CIF, impactful investments that are waiting to be deployed for church loans. When the time is right, we will move forward with delight and accuracy. “ In the business world, organizations come and go. Those that go may be lacking in their mission and vision, looking more to immediate gains than… Continue Reading
“Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisors they succeed.” Proverbs 15:22 (ESV) When someone, whether an individual or a church, does their homework before making major decisions, the outcome is always better, and usually much better. In some years, church building expenses can consume a third of a church’s budget. The mortgage payment is… Continue Reading
